TAAS 200 Fall Scavenger Hunt - Saturday November 18, 2017

Why is this event important? The TAAS 200 list is important. It was created by TAAS members in 1995. It consists of non-Messier objects that are fairly easy to find and of a magnitude that even with small telescopes, members can spot them.

To read about the TAAS 200, click here.

What will strike you about the objects on the list are some of the exotic names. Here is a sampling:

  • Skull Nebula
  • Perseus Lenticular
  • Eskimo Nebula
  • Pegasus Barred Spiral
  • Blue Snowball
Hopefully this taste of the scavenger hunt will induce you to learn more and join us at GNTO on Saturday. The sun sets at 5 pm so you can get an early start on the list. Doors will open at 3:30 pm. Please try to arrive before dark.
