On offer is a Tak FCT-76 in good condition, with typical paint nicks for a Takahashi that was treated with kid gloves. See photos for details.

I purchased it used from a gentleman near Sante Fe a couple years ago, and due to my work schedule, it hardly got used. It is, of course, a wonderful scope. I contacted the representative for Takahashi USA to find out more and was told that all three lens elements are Fluorite and purchased it to see if that was better than my single Fluorite element 101 and 127 Televues. With the differing apertures, I can't tell you about which is better, but it is sharp and rich in contrast. I strongly suspect that either I misunderstood or that all Fluorite claim is in error. However, I have have read that the center element is Fluorite. Just a humorous footnote.

An excellent review of the model is available at https://scopelight.wordpress.com/2011/11/26/takahashi-fct-76/

NOTE: due to problems with the link opening a YouTube window in the TAAS tab, I tried several methods to avoid what I assume is HTML. It will probably be necessary to highlight just the web address and either copy and paste into a browser window or right click to open the link in a new tab. Please pardon my not being familiar with what is under the hood of web pages...

It has been difficult to determine a value, as they are very rare. The review says that only 40 were imported. Also, they tend to be equipped differently, like this has a dual speed focuser and the review sample in the first link is a single speed. As you see in the photos, it comes with a 2" photographic adaptor and a 1.24" visual train.

The price is about what I paid a couple years ago (I honestly don't remember the exact price). The review cites a range from 2100 to 2500 and I listed at the average of those. I am a bit flexible and definitely open to trades. I hope it goes to a local home as I passionately hate shipping anything delicate.

    Clear skies!
    Brian
