After several years of not having a Perihelion Banquet with the annual meeting, we are having a
banquet this January!
Date & Time: Saturday, January 27th, 2024, 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM. The start time of the banquet
may change slightly, either to 5 PM or to 6 PM. We will keep everyone posted.
Location: The New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science “Multi-Purpose” room –
directly to the left as you walk into the main entrance.
Parking: Museum parking lot (free parking).
Cost: $30 per person.
Buffet Dinner: Catered by City Treats – Beef, chicken, and cheese enchiladas, calabacitas,
tomato sage rice, pinto beans, fruited water, iced tea, lemonade, cookies, and chocolate
brownies.
2024 Officer Election: The main purpose of this event is to elect our officers for the 2024
(President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary).
Awards & Door Prizes: There will be 2023 TAAS awards, door prizes, and a fun science quiz
created by our Vice President, Boris Venet.
Guest Speaker: Dr. Alice Harding, NASA GSFC (retired). Currently, a visiting scientist at Los
Alamos National Laboratory. She will speak to us about gravitational wave detection using
arrays of pulsars.
Attendance Limit: Please note that attendance is limited to 96, as that is the maximum
number of people the room will accommodate. Please make plans to join us for a great
evening!
